  • The latest figures available from Statistics Canada (2005) which don’t include the breakdown of cohabitating couples put the risk of divorce by the 30th wedding anniversary at 38% for the country as a whole—ranging from 17% in Newfoundland and 50% in Quebec. If we were to include the breakdown of long-term cohabitation relationships that figure would probably be closer to the 50% figure that gets bandied about.
